Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Kevyn Monier, MSW, LMSW, CBT-C, at Heart and Mind Healing Therapeutic Services utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals identify and modify unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress. Treatment begins by exploring the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while identifying cognitive distortions and beliefs that may be maintaining symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, anger, or other life challenges. Through cognitive restructuring, clients learn to develop more balanced and realistic perspectives while building practical coping skills to navigate difficult situations. Behavioral interventions, including problem-solving, behavioral activation, exposure strategies when appropriate, and skills practice, help clients apply these changes in everyday life. In keeping with CBT's structured and goal-oriented approach, clients complete between-session exercises to strengthen new skills and reinforce progress. Over time, this evidence-based treatment promotes lasting emotional resilience, healthier thinking patterns, and meaningful improvements in daily functioning.
