About Me

Kevyn Monier, MSW, LMSW, CBT-C, EMDR-TR

I bring over 10 years of professional experience to my practice, including serving as a U.S. Army Captain and 73A Clinical Social Worker. My background includes working as a psychotherapist for the Department of Defense and serving as a therapist and performance coach for athletes at a leading Division I athletic program in the state of Michigan.

As a Black and African American therapist, I provide culturally responsive, identity-affirming therapy that honors each client’s lived experience. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and a deep understanding of how culture, family, faith, and community influence mental health, resilience, and performance.

I specialize in supporting individuals, families, and student-athletes navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, identity-related concerns, and high-performance environments. I believe in a holistic and personalized approach to care, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique goals, strengths, and life experiences.

Through collaborative therapy, I work with clients to develop customized treatment plans that promote healing, emotional well-being, confidence, and long-term personal growth. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Clients seeking a Black therapist, African American counselor, or culturally responsive mental health provider in Michigan will find supportive, professional, and affirming care at Heart & Mind Healing Therapeutic Services.
